Plastic free and zero waste handmade Indian rag dolls, known as bommais. It is a traditional doll found in South India, this range is inspired by Steiner's philosophy, they are faceless, simple dolls made from natural fibres. The clothes are made from end of bolt fabric which is why the outfits may vary in colour.
Frida Kahlo needs no introduction. Born in the midst of political chaos, she was a woman like no other. A painter, a radical feminist, a survivor.
Made of pure cotton, the Frida Bommai can be dry cleaned or wiped clean with a damp cloth and is instantly recognisable by her brows and the profusion of flowers she loved wearing in her hair. Her typical Tijuana wide skirt with hakoba frill and short top, sourced from local manufacturers, they are made from the end of bolt pieces, so your Bommais may be a different colour than the one shown. The rosettes on her head are crocheted, as are her distinctive painted boots and stole, held together by a hand-crocheted rosette. She comes with a hand crocheted palette and brush.
The Frida Bommai comes with a little sleeping bag and pillow that makes for neat storage. Not suitable for babies.
